Group 3 Question

3. How are the components in the cells identified after the development of Cell Theory and what are the components identified?

  1. They are identified through a microscope. The major parts of an animal cell are nucleus, cell membrane and cytoplasm while the major parts of a plant cell are nucleus, cell membrane, cytoplasm, cell wall, chloroplast and vacuoles.

  2. The components of the cells were identified by the microscope after the development of Cell Theory. The components identified are the cytoplasm, nucleus, cell membrane, chloroplasts, cell wall, nucleolus, ribosome, vesicle, rough endoplasmic reticulum (ER), Golgi apparatus, Cytoskeleton, smooth endoplasmic reticulum, mitochondria, vacuole, lysosome, centrioles within centrosome, etc.

  3. The components in the cells are identified through the use of a microscope. The major components in an animal cell are the nucleus, cytoplasm and cell membrane. For plant cells, they have extra components: a cell wall, vacuole and chloroplast.
